The First Lady attended the Easter festival The Feast of Feasts and two exhibitions organised as part of the festival.
The exhibition God’s World Through Child’s Eyes presented works of the school’s students. The kids created art pieces in a variety of genres: craftwork, painting, lithography, practical arts and photography. The exhibition was dominated by an Easter tree, which the students decorated with painted wooden Easter eggs.
The second exhibition, entitled The Feast of Feasts was organised by the students of the Church Arts Department at St Tikhon’s Orthodox Humanitarian University. They presented needlework, mosaics and icons.
For the festival’s opening, the students prepared a performance called The Tsar’s Children based on Ilya Surguchev’s book The Childhood of Emperor Nicholas II.
The 19th century atmosphere was created by young musicians performing piano and vocal pieces by composers of the era.
