The EU delegation at the summit will be headed by European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso.
During the summit, the two sides plan to discuss the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, including the state of trade and economic cooperation, energy cooperation and the development of the Partnership for Modernisation initiative.
Other key topics will include prospects for introducing a visa-free regime for mutual short-term visits by Russian and EU citizens, the negotiation process on a new framework agreement, and Russia’s priorities for its G20 chairmanship. It is expected that the two sides will also touch base on a number of international and regional issues.
