The President proposed setting up a fund of this kind at the ASI Supervisory Board’s last meeting on November 22, 2012, the idea being to create jobs at home and develop a support mechanism for young creative specialists and entrepreneurs working in new media. The fund will focus on the socially significant projects.
The Supervisory Board members will also examine a package of new projects in the three main areas of the Agency’s activity: New Business, Young Professionals, and Social Projects.
The Agency for Strategic Initiatives is an autonomous non-commercial organisation set up by the Russian Government to promote and support unique and socially significant new projects and ideas coming from medium-sized business with the aim of encouraging professional mobility and giving backing to young professional teams.
Mr Putin chairs the ASI Supervisory Board, and its permanent members include Presidential Aide Elvira Nabiullina, Economic Development Minister Andrei Belousov, ASI Director General Andrei Nikitin, Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, and Chairman of Vnesheconombank Vladimir Dmitriev.
