President Putin with Dmitry Rogozin, chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs and special presidential envoy to the Kaliningrad Region.
President Putin said that Mr Rogozin was entrusted with an important mission to help settle the Kaliningrad problem in light of the upcoming accession of 10 new members into the European Union in 2004.
The President emphasised that Russia’s future relations with the EU would largely depend on resolving the problem of the Baltic exclave.
