The message states, in part, that the common goal meeting the real interests of both Russia and Azerbaijan is clear – to ensure the coordination of efforts in order to preserve stability and security in the region over a long term. Russia is ready to play an active role in these efforts on the bilateral and multilateral basis.
Mr Putin expressed certainty that well-organised cooperation of the security councils of Russia and Azerbaijan, which exemplifies the cooperation of states adequately assessing the danger of international terrorism, is in line with these goals.
The Russian President stressed that Russia intended to give prime attention to deeper relations with Azerbaijan in the spheres of culture and education, and to interaction among the youth and public organisations. It is going to continue the course aimed at making Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation more fruitful and achieving concrete mutually advantageous results.
On February 19, Mr Putin’s message was conveyed to Heidar Aliyev by Vladimir Rushailo, Secretary of Russia’s Security Council, while on a visit to Baku.
