After the ceremony opening the Days of Russian Culture in Bulgaria, a gala concert was held at Sofia’s National Palace of Culture. The performers included musicians of Yury Bashmet’s Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Russian pop singer Iosif Kobzon, ballet dancers of the Bolshoi Theatre and the Kremlin Ballet Theatre, and the Kuban Cossack Choir.
The Days of Russian Culture in Bulgaria will last till March 6. Well-known performers and groups will take part in it. There are also plans to hold a Week of Russian Cinema, an art exhibition called “Bulgaria Reborn”, and a photo exhibition “Russia Today”.
The festival of Russian culture is timed to coincide with the 125th anniversary of Bulgaria’s liberation from the Ottoman yoke.
