The message said, in part:
“I am pleased to note that during this period, relatively short by the measure of history, Russian-Irish links have acquired a stable and friendly character and have had tangible practical content. Bilateral interaction in the political, economic and trade, cultural and humanitarian spheres is growing stronger.
“I am confident that all-round mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Ireland will continue to develop for the good of our peoples, in the interests of stronger security and stability in Europe.”
