In recent years, serious steps have been taken to increase the level of border security of Russia. As an example, the President mentioned the structural changes to the system of border bodies, designed to optimize the administration, and consolidate the operative component in the activity of border bodies.
At the same time, the President directed attention to the fact that the main approach in the strategy and protection of the state border should be in reducing the military component and moving to an operative military method of protecting borders with maximum use of modern technical capabilities.
