Mr Putin congratulated Mr Hu on the first flight of a Chinese astronaut. He had sent the Chinese President a congratulatory telegram earlier, in which he stressed that, by joining the family of space powers, China would promote the cause of world peace, security and stability.
Mr Putin expressed satisfaction with the content, scope and pace of Russian-Chinese contacts.
During their meeting, Mr Putin and Mr Hu stressed the importance of the two Foreign Ministries’ coordinated action on the key issues of the international agenda—in particular, Iraq, Afghanistan and the North Korean problem.
They also discussed many aspects of bilateral relations.
