Mr Putin and Mr Bush exchanged views on crisis areas in the world, including Iraq, Kosovo and Afghanistan. They expressed serious concern over the lack of progress in settling regional problems and the escalation of violence.
In connection with this, President Putin declared Russia’s firm commitment to cooperate with the international community and the UN in exerting the necessary efforts aimed at resolving the regional situations as soon as possible.
Mr Putin and Mr Bush also discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in light of the proposed Russian-American top-level meeting at Sea Island, US at the G8 summit.
