During his brief visit to Chechnya, President Putin gave the star of the Hero of the Russian Federation to the family of Akhmat Kadyrov and the Order of Valour to the widow of the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic, Roza Isayeva. Akhmat Kadyrov and Husein Isayev died on May 9 in a terrorist attack at a stadium in Grozny during the celebration of the 59th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945).
The President also gave state decorations to the relatives of those who died in the attack.
