Visiting Nikolayevskoye agricultural enterprise.
Speaking at a meeting of the State Council Presidium held in Saratov, President Vladimir Putin noted that the Russian agriculture sector is not yet in a state to meet the country’s real needs and Russia still has a considerable way to go to make its agriculture competitive.
Mr Putin said he believes that what the sector needs is better scientific potential, improved training for people working in agriculture and conditions that would enable the sector to modernise its equipment, production and resource base.
