The President noted the need for further work to improve the way the judicial system functions and to strengthen the public’s trust in it.
This can be achieved by consistently implementing the principle of legal and financial independence, ensuring the courts are objective, raising judges’ professional qualifications and making justice more transparent for society.
Close cooperation between the judiciary and the mass media and the development of clear principles for their cooperation and interaction are essential for ensuring transparency of the court system, openness of court proceedings and fairness of the decisions taken.
