The meeting discussed the development problems faced by Russian business and ways to remove the barriers preventing Russian companies from making full use of their energy and capital.
One of the main problems the meeting focused on was small businesses and how the business community organisations can help them get started and develop.
The issue of targeted support for Russian businesses in foreign markets was also examined.
Mr Putin informed the meeting’s participants that work was underway on a new draft law on protecting competition.
The meeting also examined the question of regulating tax control and administration procedures.
The President noted the need for businesspeople to take an active part in reforming the education system and helping to shape the labour market.
Mr Putin agreed that the rules on taking currency out of the country for conducting transactions abroad should be relaxed. The President also expressed support for a proposal to liberalise access for Russian securities to foreign stock markets and called for a clear scheme for the privatisation of strategically important Russian companies to be drawn up.
