Mr Putin gave his warmest wishes to Mr Schroeder on his birthday.
The two leaders discussed particular aspects of the concluding phase of preparations for the Russian-German summit in Hannover on April 10–11, organised in connection with Russia being the main partner country at this year’s Hanover International Fair.
The President also sent a message of congratulations to Mr Schroeder, in which he noted in particular that:
“I highly value the genuine friendship and trusting relations that we have established over these last years.
I am looking forward to our upcoming meeting in Hannover, which I am sure will benefit the consistent development of the multifaceted partnership between Russia and Germany and will help strengthen stability and cooperation in Europe.”
