At a press-conference in Cairo, Vladimir Putin announced that it was no coincidence that he had begun his first visit to the Middle East in Egypt. Egypt today is a dynamically developing country, which is constantly strengthening its foreign policy and economic positions.
Russia intends to actively develop cooperation with Egypt. Products of Russian machine construction and energy equipment are returning to the Egyptian market. Russian companies are taking an active part in modernising important objects of the Egyptian infrastructure.
The two countries are discussing prospects for military-technical cooperation and also expanding their bilateral relations in the areas of culture, science, education and training for specialists. Russia has confirmed its interest in carrying out a project to establish a Russian-Egyptian university in Cairo.
During the talks, Russia and Egypt also confirmed their common aspiration to regulate the Middle East conflict.
