The message reads:
“We note with pleasure the growing role of African nations on the international stage, their aspirations to contribute to strengthen global security and build a democratic order, and in developing coordinated approaches to solving key problems of the modern world in the framework of the United Nations and other multilateral forums.
We welcome the efforts of African nations to form the foundations of collective security at a regional level, including formation of their own peace-keeping potential. Increasing integration processes has enormous importance, including further solidarity under the aegis of the African union, and continuing work on implementing the goals and principles of the programme “New Partnership for African Development” (NEPAD).
In its turn, Russia is prepared to continue actively assisting an integrated solution to problems faced by the continent, both at bilateral level and within the framework of the G-8 and other international associations.
We value the friendly relations that have been established between Russia and the African nations. We are firmly resolved to consolidate the positive dynamic of the past years in relations with countries of the region, for a creative application of the experience gained, and to look for new forms of cooperation. I am certain that by joint efforts we will ensure further development of Russian-African political dialogue, mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and economic and other spheres.“
