February 10, 2006
00:00

In his message of congratulations, the President said in particular:

“This holiday symbolises the continuity of the best traditions of Russian diplomacy. Your work has always entailed high demands and great responsibility. It is in great part thanks to the professional qualities of the staff of our Foreign Ministry that our country has achieved significant success on the international stage and has increased its potential for internal transformation and national development.

The strengthening of our statehood and the economic growth our country is undergoing create the foundation today for Russia to play a greater part in global and regional politics and in forming a stable, fair and secure system of international relations. Multilateral economic cooperation and expanding humanitarian and cultural ties are also opening up new opportunities for our country.

I am certain that the Russian diplomatic service will do everything necessary to achieve its set objectives and will continue to be worthy of the great respect and trust that it receives from the public.”
