The federal law ratifies the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria on Economic and Financial Relations and on Settling the Debts owed by the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Russian Federation for Loans Previously Accorded and the Corresponding Protocol that were signed in Algiers 10 March 2006.
The Agreement and the corresponding Protocol promote further strengthening friendly relations between the two countries, developing mutually advantageous trade and economic cooperation, eliminate any negative elements in Russian-Algerian relations such as the fact that the debts of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Russian Federation were unsettled, open the Algerian market to Russian military products, and establish the preconditions for credit cooperation.
