Speaking at the World Summit of Religious Leaders in Moscow, President Vladimir Putin said he was satisfied with the way relations between the state and the different religious faiths are developing in Russia today.
Mr Putin said that relations between religious groups and the state in Russia are built on the principles of equality for all religious organisations before the law and the state’s non-intervention in their activities.
The President stressed that these kinds of relations between religious organisations and the state help to resolve key national tasks.
Mr Putin assured the summit’s participants that he would inform the G8 countries’ leaders of the World Summit of Religious Leaders’ decisions at the upcoming G8 summit in St Petersburg.
