This statement is made in a message from President Vladimir Putin to the journalists accredited to cover the St Petersburg summit and is being disseminated at the summit’s International Press Centre that opened this morning.
Mr Putin is confident that effective cooperation between the summit participants and the media community will make the summit a success in terms of organisation and content.
The President said he hopes that the leading world media will provide detailed, responsible and objective coverage of the events taking place over the coming days in St Petersburg.
