Opening the meeting, President Vladimir Putin proposed that the summit discuss integration processes, including with regards to construction of the Common Economic Space and plans for accession to the World Trade Organisation.
Mr Putin also proposed looking at ways to intensify cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Community and the Collective Security Treaty Organisation.
Speaking at a press conference following the summit, Mr Putin informed journalists that the Eurasian Economic Community leaders had signed a document instructing the organisation’s secretariat and also Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, to take the steps required to put in place the legal foundation for a customs union.
