Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref reported on the macroeconomic indicators for the first three quarters of 2006. Mr Gref also spoke about measures undertaken to attract foreign investment to the Russian economy.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov reported on the approval of federal targeted programmes aimed at changing the structure of the Russian economy and bringing about a transition to a sustainable innovative development-based model.
Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov informed the meeting on prospects for developing the military-industrial complex.
Health and Social Development Minister Mikhail Zurabov reported on work on the ‘Healthcare’ priority national project, in particular regarding deliveries of medical equipment.
Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin reported on work on the 2007 budget.
In relation to the President’s instruction to bring order to trade on wholesale and retail markets, Mr Gref, Mr Zurabov and Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev presented detailed information on the situation regarding labour migration and measures aimed at bringing order to trade on these markets.
After listening to the ministers’ reports, Mr Putin noted the need for more active and productive work to carry out his instruction and obtain results that would visibly improve the situation.
