President Vladimir Putin has concluded a two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia. Talks with King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud affirmed the two countries’ similar positions on the main international and regional issues.
Addressing a meeting of Russian and Saudi business leaders on February 12, Mr Putin noted that Russia intends to keep expanding its constructive cooperation with the Muslim world.
With the world economy’s demand for energy resources predicted to rise, Russia and Saudi Arabia are not competitors but allies, rather, in developing the world’s energy markets, the President said.
Mr Putin noted that the two countries could pursue profitable cooperation in other areas too, such as the metals sector, nuclear energy, high technology and joint participation in transport infrastructure development projects.
A number of bilateral agreements on trade and economic, humanitarian, and information cooperation were signed during the President’s visit to the Kingdom.
