Mr Putin and Mr Nazarbayev made press statements following their talks.
Mr Putin said that bilateral cooperation between the two countries should focus on innovation projects in the fuel and energy sector, efficient use of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, development of the Caspian Sea’s resources, and increasing investment in each other’s economies. Mr Nazarbayev, for his part, also confirmed Kazakhstan’s interest in developing international uranium enrichment centres.
The two countries agreed to support the development of regional cooperation.
Considerable attention during the talks was given to developing a cultural and humanitarian partnership. Among the subjects the two Presidents discussed in this area were the preparations for the second CIS Creative Community Forum.
