The interview addressed issues regarding the development of civil society, the fight against corruption, and the improvement of the judiciary system.
This is the President’s first interview with a Russian printed media.
Dmitry Medvedev had promised to answer Novaya Gazeta’s questions at a meeting with Editor in Chief Dmitry Muratov and former President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev who is a newspaper shareholder, on January 29, 2009.
The President intends to continue the practice of regular interviews with Russian newspapers.
