The head of the Russian state informed the Uzbek President about the results of the Collective Security Council session recently held in Minsk. The session focused, in particular, on more active joint efforts of all interested countries in countering international terrorism and religious extremism.
In a lengthy conversation the two presidents discussed the implementation of the agreements in the military, political, economic and military-technological fields reached during Vladimir Putin’s recent visit to Uzbekistan. The heads of state mapped out practical steps to strengthen interaction between the two countries.
Mr Putin thanked Islam Karimov once more for the hearty welcome and hospitality accorded to him and members of the Russian delegation during their stay in Tashkent.
