Mr Putin and Mr Reiman discussed the possibility of using standby channels to resume television broadcasting after the fire at the Ostankino television tower, and measures to secure uninterrupted operation of communications, ambulance, police and other services.
The President had urgent telephone conversations about the accident with Internal Affairs Minister Vladimir Rushailo, Minister of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief Sergei Shoigu, and Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov.
