Mr Putin and Mr Schroeder held a news conference after the talks. In his statement to the press, President Putin said long-term relations between Russia and Europe could help the latter solve its energy problems.
After the official programme of the German Chancellor’s official visit to Moscow, both leaders took a brief walk in the Kremlin.
