The discussion focused on topical aspects of bilateral cooperation, including the oil and energy sector, military-technical cooperation, the problems of strengthening security, the fight against terrorism and the situation in Central Asia.
The two Presidents also considered prospects for promoting bilateral integration and establishing an economic and customs association of Russia and Kazakhstan.
President Putin briefed President Nazarbayev on the major results of the APEC forum in Brunei.
After the talks the two leaders addressed a news conference.
