The President set out the public prosecutors’ key tasks, including the protection of private property and the rights of businessmen, as well as control over the observance of laws protecting economic freedom. He underlined that an efficient performance of prosecutors’ offices and courts was essential for the development of the Russian economy.
Mr Putin said that another major challenge was to enhance the efficiency of public prosecutors’ work in support of the government case in courts. Noting that only highly skilled professionals were able to cope with the task, the President proposed to increase the public prosecutors corps.
