The leaders of all the CIS states without exception were present in the palace’s Marble Hall: President of Armenia Robert Kocharian, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiev, President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmonov, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, and President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
Executive Secretary of the CIS Vladimir Rushailo also took part in the meeting.
On the agenda were integration processes in the CIS region and the question of reforming the organisation.
The official CIS summit will take place on October 5–6, 2007, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
