President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Leonid Kuchma

Mr Putin told Mr Kuchma about the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s plans for providing urgent humanitarian aid to the victims of flooding in the Zakarpatsky Region, Ukraine.

The Ukrainian President thanked Russia for its prompt response to the disaster.
