Vladimir Putin offered his assessment of the results of the Russian-US summit.
The leaders of the two countries discussed the prospects of further promoting Russia-NATO relationships and adjusting them to meet present-day realities laid down by the British prime minister in the message to the Russian president of November 16, 2001.
The Russian side hailed the effective response by the British government to the repeated statements made by Vladimir Putin on the necessity of bringing Russia-NATO relationships in conformity with new challenges and threats to security in Europe and the world as a whole. The anti-terrorist operation and political settlement in Afghanistan were also given thorough consideration.
