Addressing the audience, Vladimir Putin said that the state should ensure a certain standard of [medical] services while encouraging private initiative.
The participants discussed the functioning of the sphere of paid medical services, the training of personnel, and ways to encourage graduates of medical institutes and universities to work in the Russian provinces, especially in rural areas, as well as state financing of the public health care system.
