President Vladimir Putin presented the 2001 arts and literature prizes in the Kremlin

The Kremlin, Moscow
2001 Arts and Literature Prize award ceremony. The State Prize was awarded to the writer Daniil Granin.
2001 Arts and Literature Prize award ceremony. The Presidential Prize was awarded to the art director of the Sovremennik Theatre Galina Volchek.
2001 Arts and Literature Prize Award ceremony. The Presidential Prize was awarded to the satirical writer, art director of the Moscow Sketch Theatre Mikhail Zhvanetsky.

Twenty-two state prizes of the Russian Federation in arts and literature (85 winners), one State Prize of the Russian Federation in Arts and Literature for children and adolescents (five winners), 10 Arts and Literature Prizes of the President of the Russian Federation (10 winners) and one Bulat Okudzhava Prize (one winner) were awarded by presidential decree.
