Current global economic trends, preparation of amendments to the Budget Code, and state support for Russian enterprises were the subjects on the agenda.
The President said that state support should be dependent on companies’ efforts to modernise production, increase energy efficiency and labour productivity. The respective provisions will be written into law very soon.
Mr Medvedev proposed discussing several of the issues raised during his meeting with business community representatives on May 26, 2009, including access to regional markets, excessive reporting requirements for small businesses, unfair competition from foreign companies on the Russian market, and insufficient incentives for private companies to engage in geological exploration.
