We appreciate your significant contribution to strengthening Russian-Brazilian cooperation with regards to the mutual enrichment of the cultures of our peoples. Clear evidence of this is the successful implementation of the construction project of the Bolshoi Theatre's new building in Brazil“.
By decree, in October 2007 the President of the Russian Federation awarded Oscar Niemeyer a Friendship Award.
Vladimir Putin's message and award were presented to Mr Niemeyer during a ceremony in the Russian embassy in Brazil by V. Tiurdenev.
