Mr Putin instructed the Cabinet members to present concrete proposals on the issues discussed at the meeting of the Council for the Priority National Projects on February 28, 2008. These issues include town planning and urban development policy, bringing order to the market for agricultural land, establishing competition in the social sector and encouraging investment in human capital.
Health and Social Development Minister Tatyana Golikova reported on a package of measures simplifying medical assessment procedures for disabled people and making it easier for them to obtain funds for rehabilitation. Mrs Golikova said these documents have now been presented to the Government for examination.
Regional Development Minister Dmitry Kozak reported on the drafting of territorial planning measures that will be an important part of strategic planning and set the direction for long-term development of Russia’s production and social infrastructure.
