The federal law ratifies the Convention Between the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Morocco on the Transfer of Prisoners.
The Convention was signed in Casablanca on 7 September 2006.
The Convention regulates Russian-Moroccan relations concerning the transfer of prisoners to serve their sentences in the countries of their citizenship and is designed to help protect the the rights and legal interests of Russian citizens.
The Convention provides for the transfer of prisoners by each Party on a reciprocal basis and in accordance with the conditions set forth in the Convention. Prisoners that have been sentenced by the courts of one Party and are a national of the other Party may be transferred with a view to serving their sentences in the countries of their citizenship.
