Welcoming the head of Siemens, the President of Russia stressed that the company is one of the biggest German investors in the Russian economy. Vladimir Putin recalled that since 1970 the company has carried out a large number of projects in Russia and has been been active in Russia for 155 years. It is engaged in a wide range of manufacturing activities, including transport, medicine and energy. The head of state welcomed the company’s willingness to further develop its relations with its Russian partners.
Peter Loescher confirmed that Siemens attaches great importance to its partnership with Russia. According to him, he personally made the Russian market a focus from the beginning as part of Siemens’ business strategy. In Russia, he wants to discuss the development of the transport sector and questions related to projects for the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The meeting was also attended by Vice-President of Siemens Dietrich Moeller, Presidential Aide Igor Shuvalov and Director General of Rosatom State Corporation Sergei Kirienko.
