The President said, in particular, in his message:
“The fruitful contacts between scientists from our two countries over these years have made a significant contribution to developing fundamental science and enriching it with new ideas and discoveries. Our scientists’ joint projects, authentic creative partnership and friendly communication have helped to build trust and understanding between our peoples, and their bold initiatives have helped to maintain peace and stability in our world.
Humanity faces a whole number of global challenges in the twenty-first century. They include international security, modernising energy, taking action against climate change, and protecting the environment.
I am confident that Russian and American scientists will work together on solutions to these problems, and the cooperation between our academies will continue to develop in the interests of our peoples’ and countries’ progress and prosperity.”
