A welcome ceremony for the Chinese President took place in the St George Hall at the Grand Kremlin Palace before the talks began.
After holding one-on-one talks, the two presidents were joined by their delegations for further discussions that concluded with the signing of a number of bilateral agreements.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Hu signed a joint declaration on the results of their meeting and approved the Russian-Chinese Investment Cooperation Plan.
The two leaders witnessed the signing of the Protocol to the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Establishment and Organizational Principles of the Mechanism of Regular Meetings between the Heads of Governments of Russia and China of June 27, 1997.
Also signed were three memorandums of understanding – on cooperation in the natural gas sector and in the coal sector, and on cooperation between the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and China’s Ministry of Commerce on stimulating bilateral trade of machinery and technical equipment and innovative products.
Further agreements included a framework agreement between State Corporation Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank) and the Export-Import Bank of China on a loan of up to 700 million USD, and a memorandum of understanding between the Renova Group and the China National Gold Corporation.
