The situation in the automotive industry and agriculture was one of the subjects of discussion. In particular, the Izhevsk Automobile Plant invested three billion rubles [more than $83 million] in its own funds last year and produced 50,000 vehicles. This year, the company plans to invest 6 billion rubles and produce 80,000 vehicles. The plant has launched a new car – the LADA Granta liftback, and in August will start producing Nissan cars.
The republic is expecting a good harvest this year. Last year, approximately 30 billion rubles worth of agricultural products was produced and sold, but this year, Udmurtia expects a figure of 36 billion.
Mr Solovyev also spoke about the Housing for Young Families programme that the region is currently implementing, and the construction of kindergartens.
