President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Good afternoon, colleagues,
I would like to begin by congratulating you and all those working in the oil and gas industry with your coming professional holiday – Oil and Gas Industry Worker Day.
It is good to see that on the eve of its professional holiday the industry is demonstrating good results and favourable prospects for both the medium- and long term.
An example of this is the upcoming commissioning of a new field on the Sakhalin shelf, the Northern tip of Chaivo. This is a very good result, considering the technological peculiarities of the project.
Mr Sechin reported some 2–3 days ago that despite the fact that the field is located on the ocean shelf, this is a horizontal well 9.5 km long, drilled with the use of the latest technologies that can be applied in other regions as well, in other production areas, including those on the Arctic sea shelf.
Congratulations once again on your professional holiday.

I am aware that work here has been planned out until 2030, it is a large-scale project with good development prospects, just like other plans that our oil and gas companies are working on.
Congratulations once again and I wish you success and all the best!
