The Russian Federation Government has been instructed to accelerate submission to the State Duma of the draft federal law On Priority Socioeconomic Development Areas and Other State Support Measures for the Far East Regions.
In particular, the instructions also concern developing and modernising the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian railways, identifying sources of budget financing in 2015–2017 for priority investment projects and priority socioeconomic development areas in the Far East, and creating a priority socioeconomic development area on Russky Island with education, science, research, culture, tourism and recreation, and exhibitions identified as its priority areas.
Instructions to the Government jointly with Far Eastern and North-Eastern federal universities and state corporations as well as joint stock companies with the Russian Federation’s share in their registered capital of more than 50%, concern the creation and replenishment of endowment funds for those universities as well as cooperation on training personnel and making use of promising designs and scientific research results.
A set of recommendations was given to executive bodies in Russia’s federal constituent entities located in the Far Eastern Federal District.
