The agreement was signed in Havana on February 21, 2013.
The Agreement establishes the legal and organisational framework for forming and developing cooperation programmes between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Cuba in studying and using outer space and the practical application of space equipment and technologies for peaceful purposes.
In accordance with the agreement, the cooperation will be carried out by implementing joint programmes and projects with the use of a scientific, industrial, and experimental foundation, conducting joint experiments, exchanging scientific and technical information and special knowledge, experimental data, results from research and development work, documentations, materials and equipment in various areas of space science, space equipment and space technologies, as well as through other forms of cooperation that will be determined through additional treaties and agreements.
