The message reads, in part:
“It is symbolic that this forum is being held in Finland, one of the recognised world leaders in innovation and a long-time reliable partner of Russia.
The holding of such a forum is an important and timely initiative, which once again confirms the strategic nature of the relations between our country and the European Union and provides a good platform to discuss key issues of our cooperation in innovation, to establish direct business contacts, to implement joint research and industrial projects, and to develop international scientific cooperation in general.
I hope that the recommendations made by your forum will assist the implementation of the action plan within the EU-Russia Innovation Corridor and the EU-Russia Innovation Collaboration Roadmaps 2010–2013 in such strategic areas as innovation and technology.”
The First EU-Russia Innovation Forum is being held on May 25–27, 2010 in the city of Lappeenranta, Finland.
