“Your forum has wonderful, long-standing traditions that we can rightly call historic. Born in the middle of the last century, the festival has always been in tune with the times, reflecting the newest trends in Russian and global cinematography. And so, for many years, it has deservedly been regarded as prestigious within the professional community, and is a major and truly celebratory event for film lovers.
I am confident that this year’s festival will be held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, creativity and imagination, and will be interesting to participants as well as a wide audience. And, of course, people look forward to its spectacular premieres, bright discoveries and simply good, deep, thoughtful films.”
The Moscow International Film Festival is held between June 19 and 26. Its main competition programme includes 12 films, including three Russian films.
