The summit was attended by the Presidents of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
During the summit, the leaders shared their opinions on current issues in international security; in particular, they discussed the fight against religious extremism and terrorism within the CSTO area.The other subjects on the agenda were some specific aspects of the CSTO functioning, and ways to improve its efficiency.
The Presidents agreed to coordinate information policy among CSTO member states.
One of the meeting results was a decision to establish in Russia an information technologies centre for training security experts.
This was the second informal CSTO summit; the first informal meeting of Heads of the CSTO member states took place in December 2008, in Kazakhstan.
